Returning to it's former home THE VALVE SOUND SYSTEM is back for the only show in LEEDS this year. The custom-built Valve Sound System is considered the best drum and bass sound system in the world.
There are few producers on the drum’n’bass scene who are as respected and revered as Dillinja. With his trademark combination of dirty stomach-churning basslines and tighter than tight beats, his reputation has been secured as one of the most influential producers in drum’n’bass history, as well as one of the scene’s most called-upon remixers, having worked with everyone from David Bowie to Bjork and Basement Jaxx. A true connoisseur of sound, Dillinja’s mighty 96k Valve Sound System is recognised the world over as being second to none.
BREAKAGE (DIGITAL SOUND BOY)
Breakage aka James Boyle is never been one to be pigeonholed. Moving effortlessly through styles from drum and bass to dubstep, Breakage has proved himself to be one of the most versatile operators in either scene to date. A prodigious talent, he already has a number of classic releases under his belt but continues to develop his sound. Combining rich tones and a sense of spaciousness in the mix, Breakage’s music is both subtle yet devastatingly effective.
Never afraid to make an impact, he burst onto the drum and bass scene back in 2000, announcing his arrival with a raucous remix of a hardcore classic, Nasty Habit’s ‘Here Come the Drums’ on Reinforced.
He backed up this bold move, however, with a series of EPs for the legendary label proving he was no young pretender. Breakage was at the forefront of a new wave of breakbeat scientists bringing a percussive sound back to drum and bass at a time when the scene seemed to have forgotten it’s jungle roots.
DJ N-TYPE (History SET) (WHEEL AND DEAL)
N-Type is among Rinse’s longest-running dubstep DJs, having joined the station around 2003-2004 when the sound was still very much in its infancy. A lover of garage and jungle as a teenager, he started to become intrigued by the darker tracks coming out of South London, made by people like Horsepower Productions and Sheffield’s Oris Jay, that seemed to meld those two genres together. In the years since then, he’s been inextricably involved as a producer and DJ throughout its journey from the basements of south and east London to to stages around the world, and recorded the fifth volume in Tempa’s scene-defining mix CD series Dubstep Allstars.
K-AZE (FOOTWORK/JUNGLE SET) (VALVE)
K-AZE is Kevin King aka Lemon D under his new multi genre production pseudonym. After taking over 24 months out and working on different genres , producing under a constant studio regime experimenting with different tempos and collaborating various musicians the project has started to eventually see the light from the studio doors. It's a complete amalgamation ... experimenting with 4 to floor Jungle, Dubstep, R&B , House and more..
