Maceo Parker: his name is synonymous with Funky Music, his pedigree impeccable. His band; the tightest little funk orchestra on earth. He has played with each and every leader of funk, his start with James Brown, which Maceo describes as "like being at University"; jumping aboard the Mothership with George Clinton; and stretching out with Bootsy's Rubber Band. More recently Prince called on Maceo to be part of his record breaking Musicology Tour. He is the living, breathing pulse which connects the history of Funk in one golden thread. Today Maceo headlines worldwide to sold-out audiences of new fans and old-school music aficionados alike; and it is with great pleasure we welcome him for this rare UK date.

On tour with The Maceo Parker Band is Dennis Rollins, an acclaimed musician, composer and educator, celebrated for his versatility and unique approach to the trombone. Born in Birmingham in 1964 of Jamaican parents, Dennis cut his teeth at the age of 14 studying and performing with The Doncaster Youth Jazz Association. After years of concentrated study Dennis relocated to London and began playing with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and the legendary all-black jazz big band The Jazz Warriors. Over the years Dennis has established a reputation as an artist of excellence and has lent his talents to some of this country's and, indeed, the world's top jazz and pop personalities such as Courtney Pine, Baba Maal, Jamiroquai, US3, Brand New Heavies and Blur.
